چکیده
The acoustic properties of heterozoan and photozoan carbonates are compared interpreted in the light their distinct patterns diagenetic evolution. combined role depositional processes on petroacoustic signatures both has been assessed basis a multi-disciplinary multi-scale study Oligo-Miocene limestone outcrops from Cape Range peninsula (NW Australia). This integrates detailed analysis (using sedimentology, petrography stable isotopes geochemistry), as well physical characterization (through velocity laboratory porosity measurements, modelling 3D CT-scan imaging). three formations studied characterized by evolution: heterozoan, non-tropical Mandu Tulki significant development microporosity pressure-solution compaction features which led to decreasing pore network stiffness. Photozoan, sub-tropical tropical Trealla formation dominated moldic, vuggy partially cemented intergranular pores tends increase limestones have shown be mainly related (1) differences during burial resulting an emersion phase (2) mineralogy dominant carbonate producers. Temperate High-Mg calcite typically poorly allowed for greater degree, reducing ratio macropore. Furthermore, these producers (large benthic foraminifers, red algae …) favoured intragranular whereas less-stable aragonite biota Limestone molds vugs, early meteoric diagenesis. Finally, approaches such αK inversion proved efficient quantifying impact associated types properties. These results, emphasizing strong variability fabrics could interesting implications terms reservoir upscaling approaches.
